PAYE workers afraid of what the mini-budget has in store may already be overpaying hundreds of euro each in unclaimed refunds, according to Irish tax refunds firm Red Oak Tax Refunds.

Hundreds of thousands of workers who every year pay union fees, refuse charges and medical expenses for example don’t claim relief on the payments – with millions of euro remaining unclaimed every year.

“With taxes set to increase, and the recession becoming a reality for families around the country, now is the time to get a grip on exactly what you are entitled to,” Mr John O’Connor of Red Oak explains. “Nobody minds paying their fair share, but it doesn’t make sense not to avail of tax relief put in place to make it easier to afford such expenses.”

Red Oak Tax Refunds are experts at ensuring the average worker gets exactly what they’re entitled to by processing tax refund claims for PAYE workers.

As well as tax information and refund claim services, the site’s Budget Calculator has proved very popular – and it is set to be updated following this week’s Budget. “Most people are left confused and feeling uninformed by a Budget, but after using our Budget Calculator you will know where you stand – how many euro better or worse off ” added Mr O’Connor

Any PAYE worker can benefit from the service provided by Red Oak Tax Refunds – but particularly those in retail, public service, construction, as well as financial sectors such as fund accounting and retail banking.

The Revenue’s own figures indicate that the average payout from overpaid taxes is a substantial €667 per person with millions of euro unclaimed each year.

The firm have launched a new website (www.redoaktaxrefunds.ie) – at an event hosted by Minister for Trade and Commerce John McGuinness TD – to simplify the complex process.

“We have launched the website to make the process as easy as we can for people who don’t know the ins and outs of the tax system. We tailor our services to each client’s needs identifying, and completing refund claims for all of the possible tax refunds provided for by Ireland’s complex tax laws,” Mr O’Connor continued.

The new site is expected to lead to the creation of ten new jobs in Carlow with Red Oak part of a wave of Small and Medium Enterprises predicted to buck the trend of the recession and provide new employment. “We’re excited by the possibilities of the business and the creation of employment opportunities. We’re also glad to be making it easy for working families to make ends meet by helping them access funds they are simply forgetting about,” Mr O’Connor added.
